We have been very busy here at Inner Core Porductions. Along with Mark Sedwick (Black_Knyght) and Ray Williams (Atrocities), we have the very talented David Gervais working on in our art department. We also have John Becaro in line to do our race portraits, once we have developed the races which will be included in our game. This game will be highly moddable, thanks to the hard work of our content director Alistair Roberts (Alikiwi), and the framework and programming will be done by our programmer Ivan Becarro (LennyNero). We have diligently been working on the main game mechanics, with a focus on resources systems, environments, and making gameplay more enjoyable for the players. A phenomenal game user interface (GUI) is being developed which will minimize the need for multi-leveled windown and will make options and controls more accessible for the players. We are meeting weekly to discuss all the facets of the games and ways to make our game like "an Space Empire IV game on brain steroids." We hope to have more information for you soon! Races in this 4X plus turn based strategy game, are being broken into two main groups.
A) Those which have developed space flight and
B) Those which have not!
The later group of 'minor'races is further broken down into further groups, humanoid types and non-humanoid types, but more importantly some of them will never develop space flight!
Further details are still either classified or being worked on.
The main races are also seperated (unoffically) into humnaoid and non-humanoid life forms, and at this stage is expected to number 15 races.
The minor races may number 25 races, though numbers in game will depend on galaxy size and game setup decisions. At least 2 of these main races will be Nomadic types that live solely in space, never bothering to live on planets with their variable and uncontrollable atmospheres. They make good trade partners, but not very good enemies. It is suggested when playing this game, that you consider your options carefully before declaring war on them!
